Whatever you are facing,
you don’t have to face it alone…

Sometimes we feel as though we have been drifting at sea. Our sails tattered and torn by the storms that rage around us. It is during these times that we need someone to guide us back to a safe harbour where we can heal and regain our strength and find direction.
Asking for help and seeking counselling is not a sign of weakness. Instead, it is a courageous, positive step toward changing old patterns, create new meaning and live vibrant lives. We all, even well-functioning individuals, at some point, face problems or challenges that could benefit from additional assistance.

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”

Thank you for (virtually) dropping by.

My work includes services to Teens, Adolescents, Young Adults, and Adults who experience a wide range of issues including Low Self-Esteem, Anxiety, Parenting Difficulties, Self-Harm, Trauma, Crisis Intervention, and Depression. I specialise in addressing difficulties with Stress Management, Anger Management, and Emotion Regulation, in addition to struggles with Assertiveness and Communication Skills. Besides being in private practice, I am also assisting persons who experience(d) Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I aim to attune to you naturally and allow you to guide the session to the areas where you are ready to grow and develop. I can also evoke a more directive approach when I feel you will benefit from more structure. I will support you to reach your goals while we explore what might be keeping you stuck. Through this process, you can let go of old patterns, uncover your innate strengths, create new meaning, and find happiness.

A simple shift in thinking can transform your world, giving you a foundation of balance, clarity and self-worth to obtain and maintain a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling lifestyle.

You don’t have to see the whole staircase.
Just take the first step.

I understand that taking this first step is never easy. In a way, the fact that you are reading this page shows that you already picked up the oars and I would like to invite you to contact me, and I will get into the boat with you and together we will row to the shore.

The benefits of counselling are extensive. You develop greater self-awareness and insight, which enables you to grow in all areas of your life, helping you to become the person you want to be. To achieve this, I use a holistic approach and aim to go beyond merely addressing the immediate symptoms you may be experiencing. My goal is to assist you in developing effective ways of coping while exploring and addressing the underlying issues that are contributing to current life struggles, emotional distress, or interpersonal problems. You will develop a greater sense of self-acceptance and an enhanced level of self-esteem that enables you to build stronger relationship connection and help you to thrive both in your personal life, as parent and or partner, at school/university, and in your professional life.

Sometimes fear holds us back from doing the things we know we need to do to help us move into the direction we want to go. It may be starting an exercise program to become healthier, or we want to find it hard to say “no”.  Maybe you want to make other changes but are held back by “fear”.

I want you to imagine you are sitting in a small rowboat in the middle of a lake – no water or food and the water is toxic. You need to get to the shore. What do you do?

The only way to get to the shore is if you pick up the oars and row yourself to the land.

Hi Magdalena,

Thank you, I have benefited so much from our sessions together.  It’s been a  journey of discovering how my history shaped who I am and certainly how I react to times of stress.  I found writing about my past reconnected my past to my present, sort of reintegrating a part of me that I had compartmentalised away. Thoughts and worries would go round and round in my mind.  You helped me to see that I needed to stop indulging and rationalising the fear.  I didn’t realise how much harm I was doing when I was rationalising of fearful thoughts.

Definitely, your nursing background and the way you explained things helped me put things/fears into perspective.  It made sense to me. The diagrams you draw on the whiteboard was a great tool for people like me who are very visual and helped me ‘connect the dots’. The additional notes you provided helped me to continue to understand triggers and analyse my own response and figure out what helped calm  me and what made it worse.

You created a very safe, understanding and judgement free zone and I could really sense how much you wanted to help me.  I also appreciated how easily we could talk and the authenticity of your happiness to see me improve week after week. Lastly, to be more reasonable about expectations on myself and others is helping me build better connections.  I know that stresses will come and go, but now i know I have a tendency to escalate fears beyond what is rational will help me cope better.

Many thanks once again Magdalena for all your help with my recovery.  It’s really has helped change my life for the better and if I need counselling in the future, I will definitely be in contact.  Hope these notes is of help to you.  Wishing all the best. ML

I was fortunate enough to meet Magdalena last year through my church. Magdalena helped me to understand the struggles I was facing back then and most importantly, how to overcome them! After only 4-5 sessions, I felt a huge positive change in my thinking and started implementing good habits. What I really liked, in particular, is how our sessions went very naturally. I felt like I was talking to a friend who guided me in the right direction with patience and understanding. Thank you, Magdalena, for equipping me with confidence and new thinking patterns.  A.R.

Magdalena is very professional, caring, and gets to the heart of the matter fast. She will set you on the path to achieving your dreams and goals.  EH

I saw Magdalena for three months for anxiety. I had been in therapy before with another therapist, and it wasn’t helping. After just a couple of months with Magdalena, I didn’t really feel anxious anymore. Magdalena was very helpful, patient, and very down-to-earth. I highly recommend her if you have anxiety. CP
